The Seahorse
Ah, another strange creature from the depths of Earth oceans, the delicate seahorse. Quoted from Wikipedia: "Hippocampus" comes from the Ancient Greek word hippos meaning "horse" and kampos meaning "sea monster".
My mother must have had an affinity for them for the whole time she lived in our house that I grew up in she had two porcelain, turquoise seahorses hanging over her bath tub. I loved gazing at them from time to time. I thought they were so unusual.
I have read that they they hang on to seagrass in shallow tropical waters and feed. They wait for their prey to pass by and snatch it. They hang on as the current bobbles them about, much like I do in life. They swim upright, but aren't very good at it. This is definitely far removed from human likeness. An alien it could be?
